Guido santini is FAO Officer, technical coordinator of the FAO "Food for the Cities" Programme that supports national and local governments on issues related to urbanization and food security. In particular, his main area of work is on planning sustainable and resilient urban food systems with strong rural urban linkages. This also includes supporting local institutions in designing integrated policies and in creating multi-stakeholder governance bodies for improved decision making on food system strategies and planning. Guido has a MSc in tropical and subtropical agriculture that obtained in Italy (University of Florence) and Portugal (Technical University of Lisbon). His work experience includes more than 15 years of experience in the field of international development cooperation within the United Nations system (FAO and UNDP) and research institutions.
